CHESS IN BRIEF

The full FIDE rules: castling, en passant, promotion to a piece of your choice, and a move may never leave your own king in check. Checkmate wins; stalemate is a draw.

Draws are automatic, no claims needed: threefold repetition of the position, fifty moves by each side without a capture or pawn move, and dead positions such as king against king.

Play with no clock or pick a time control. If your flag falls you lose, unless your opponent cannot possibly checkmate you, which is a draw.

QUESTIONS

Do we need accounts?
No. Type a name and play. A game stays open for an hour after the last move.
Can I offer a draw?
Not yet. The draws that matter are automatic: repetition, the fifty-move rule and dead positions end the game on their own.
Who plays White?
The player who creates the game. Share the link and Black is in.
Can I take a move back?
No. As over the board: touch move, more or less.
